The Mountfield 1538H Ride-On Mower is the perfect combination of power, efficiency, and ease of use. Powered by a robust 452cc STIGA ST 500 engine, this mower delivers a reliable performance with a 98 cm cutting deck, allowing you to quickly cover large areas of lawn. The hydrostatic transmission offers smooth, pedal-operated speed control, making it easy to manoeuvre, while the rear-wheel drive ensures excellent traction, even on slightly uneven terrain.
With seven manual cutting height positions ranging from 25 mm to 80 mm, you can easily adjust the mower to suit your lawn's needs. The 1538H offers versatile cutting options—choose from collecting clippings in the spacious 240-litre rear container, mulching them back into the lawn, or using rear discharge for a clean and efficient finish. The mower features two high-performance blades, powered by electric blade engagement for smooth operation.
For added convenience, the 1538H includes a front bumper for extra style and protection, and anti-scalp wheels on the deck help to prevent damage to your lawn during operation. Delivery & Returns
Delivery
Our standard delivery is free if you spend over £75, however there are a small number of large and heavy products which require a delivery charge, if this is the case you’ll see this in the checkout before you pay.
If you spend under £75 then your standard delivery charge will either be £3.99, £5.99 or sometimes £9.95 depending on the size and weight of your order.
Some of our products will be shipped directly from suppliers and so might have slightly different timescales. If this is the case then it will clearly be indicated in the product information for your awareness. If you have any questions about this please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Returns
We hope that you’ll be happy with what you buy, however if you change your mind then you can return unwanted items within 14 days after purchase.
Items must:
- Be unused and in original condition, with all packaging, tags and labels intact.
- Have proof of purchase, such as a copy of your receipt or order confirmation.
We choose to keep the price of our products as low as possible and as such this unfortunately doesn’t allow for free returns. If you're returning an item because you've changed your mind, please contact us and we'll walk you through the simple returns process. You'll be able to track the parcels journey back to us, so we can process your refund in the quickest possible time. Please make sure that you sufficiently package up your return to prevent any damage as the goods are your responsibility until they reach our warehouse. We are able to arrange for a collection if that is easier for you, just get in touch and we can help with this.
Your refund will be processed within 14 days of reaching our warehouse using the same method that you paid with.

- Your new purchase should be registered with Mountfield using the warranty card supplied with your machine.
- The Mountfield Warranty will NOT cover the following:
- Consumable items, e.g. tyres, belts, blade bosses and blades (unless accompanied by evidence, satisfactory to Stiga Ltd., of mechanical failure).
- Second-hand goods,
- Defects which, in the opinion of Mountfield, are in any way, or to any extent, attributed to:
-ordinary wear and tear;
-misuse / accidental damage;
-failure to carry out the handling and operating instructions set out in the Owner’s Instruction Manual;
-lack of reasonable care
-the fitting of parts, replacements or extra components which are not supplied or approved by Mountfield;
-contaminated/stale fuel. - Products currently stored outside of the United Kingdom.
- Periodic maintenance services instructed by the operator’s manual, or service replacement parts which would include oil, filters, batteries, belts, brake linings, cables, fabric grass bags, fuses and other service parts unless it can be proven that the item has evidence of faulty manufacture. These items can fail due to normal wear, or through lack of maintenance.
